At the time of the release of her new album Korrespondens, Eskelina reached out to artist Alba Joanicot to propose a "korrespondens" / dialogue between the music and Alba's visual art.
In Eskelina's new album, Music meets Nature, and by the power of poetry and music, the borders separating Swedish and French culture diminishes and fades away.
Alba Joanicot draws her inspiration from the mental imagery sparked by Eskelina's music, but also from photographs of real locations in Sweden with connections to the songs. Thusly she breathes life into imaginary landscapes, genuinely expressed, inspired by pop-culture and in all of the playfully profound colours, which signify the artist's signature style.
Mentored by peruvian artist Manuel Zapata Orihuel, Alba prefers an approach free of all formal techniques of academia. She articulates her emotions by applying colours with instinctive, spontaneous strokes.
Art-correspondence is a performance for eyes and ears in equal measure.
